The Omak Pioneers hit the courts this week with back-to-back league matchups against Chelan and Cascade!
🎾 **Monday vs. Chelan**
- **Lady Pioneers** pulled off a 3-2 win!
🔹 Kathleen Kirk battled through 3 sets to win at #1 singles
🔹 Paityn Richter & Finley Sackman dominated #1 doubles 6-0, 6-0
🔹 Carly Lassila & Faith Hendrick rolled in #2 doubles 6-1, 6-1
- **Pioneer Boys** fell 1-4
🔹 Jonah Rose scored the lone win at #1 singles, 7-5, 6-3
🎾 **Wednesday vs. Cascade**
- **Lady Pioneers** narrowly lost 2-3
🔹 Paityn & Finley stayed perfect at #1 doubles (6-0, 6-0) – now 7-0 on the season!
🔹 Carly & Faith rallied for a gritty #2 doubles win (6-3, 6-1)
🔹 Kathleen went the distance in a 2.5-hour match, falling just short in a 3rd set tiebreaker
- **Pioneer Boys** lost 1-4
🔹 Bryson Buchanan & Ashvir Kataria earned the W at #1 doubles (6-3, 6-1) in tough wind conditions

🌏🍜Exploring the Flavors of Asia in Our Global & Cultural Unit! 🍜🌏
Last week, our Omak Middle School culinary students dove into the rich and diverse world of Asian cuisine as part of our Global and Cultural Foods unit!
We explored the three main regions of Asia—East, Southeast, and South Asia—and discovered the unique ingredients and popular dishes from each area. Students learned how culture, geography, and history shape food traditions across the continent.
To bring our learning to life, we rolled up our sleeves and made dumplings completely from scratch—yes, even the wrappers! Students worked in teams to mix, roll, fill, and fold their dumplings with care. We also created a variety of flavorful sauces to pair with our handmade creations.

On March 19th our high school concert band performed at the regional NCWMEA band festival at Chelan High School. They put on another great performance after Monday night's concert and came away with an Excellent rating for their performance. Congratulations high school band!
