This program exists to help English language learners meet state standards and develop English language proficiency in an environment where the student's language and cultural background are recognized as valuable learning resources.

Migrant Program - MEP

The Washington State Migrant Education Program (MEP) is federally funded and managed by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).

Juan Maravilla is the state ID&R Migrant Recruiter assigned to the Omak School District and will be working with the various stakeholders in the school district and community to help identify and recruit migrant families, ensuring they know the resources and services available through our program.  Our ID&R Recruiters bring a wealth of experience and passion for education, along with a deep commitment to serving the unique needs of migrant students.

The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure high-quality education programs and supplemental support services so that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma (or complete an HSED) that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning, and productive employment.

Please contact Juan with any questions about the Migrant Education Program (MEP).
