Omak School District Cares About the Safety of Their Students
On October 2, 2024, Shumway Road was closed due to an emergency water leak that affected the regular bus route. In response, the Omak School District swiftly made emergency bus route changes. Our dedicated staff went to the rescheduled bus stop to ensure that all students arrived home safely. We are incredibly proud of our team’s quick actions and unwavering commitment to student safety. Thank you to our staff and community for your understanding and support during this situation!

Teachers Melissa Omer and Joneen Ingram, who recently led an exciting and impactful training session for staff on the RACES strategy for writing constructed responses! This fantastic method helps students craft organized, thorough answers by guiding them to restate the question, answer it, cite evidence from the text, explain their reasoning, and summarize their response. It’s an incredible tool for building strong writing skills across the board! Plus, Melissa and Joneen took it a step further by providing grade-specific resources to ensure alignment and continuity throughout all grade levels. Our awesome 3rd graders in Ms. Ingram’s class had a blast celebrating Native American Day with an exciting mix of culture, tradition, and tasty treats! 😋🍞 They enjoyed delicious fry bread while showing off some incredible student presentations featuring ribbon skirts, jingle dresses, cradleboards, and drums! 🥁👗
The classroom was full of vibrant colors, beautiful music, and amazing stories as students shared their projects and pride in Native American heritage. 🌟💖 What an unforgettable day of learning and celebration!
