On May 22nd, East’s 3rd and 5th grade students had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Sunflower Festival at Paschal Sherman Indian School. 🌻
Several of our students also participated in the Fun Run and enjoyed an exciting and memorable experience alongside students from across the region. Throughout the day, our students were able to experience meaningful cultural connections and learn more about the traditions and community of our local tribe on the Colville Indian Reservation.
We are so grateful to Paschal Sherman Indian School for creating such a welcoming and engaging experience for our students. East is also very grateful to the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation (CCT) Charitable Contribution Fund for helping provide transportation for our students.

On Thursday, May 28th, our students participated in East’s annual Jog-a-Thon, and this year we added a Color Run to the fun! Students absolutely loved getting splashed with color as they ran lap after lap showing perseverance, energy, and Eagle pride. It was amazing to see so much excitement, encouragement, and school spirit throughout the day!

Since November, students have dedicated themselves to twice-weekly Math Is Cool practices, building advanced math and problem-solving skills under the skilled leadership of Mrs. Omer, East Omak’s 4th-grade Math Is Cool coach, and Mrs. George, East Omak’s 5th-grade Math Is Cool coach.
The 5th-grade team, comprised of Finn Taylor, Zachary McCuistion, Maddox Burelo, and Kimber McCoy, earned 101 team points and placed 11th out of 18 teams in the highly competitive “E” Division. The 4th-grade team of Willow Diaz and Pradipta Adhikari, joined by 3rd graders Jason Dodge and Paxton Couture, earned 84 points and placed 6th out of 19 teams in the same division.
East Omak teams were moved into the advanced “E” Division because of their success over the past several years. Both teams would have placed 2nd overall in the Pi Division.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, perseverance, and outstanding representation of East Omak Elementary.

School Speech Pathologist Appreciation Day
Update: Law enforcement has completed its investigation, and the reported threat to the high school is not considered credible. The school will exit lockdown and resume normal operations at 11:15 a.m. Law enforcement personnel will remain on campus for the rest of the day as a precaution. Parents who wish to pick up their students may do so after that time.
At 10:16 am on May 6, 2026, Omak High School received an anonymous phone call threatening to shoot up the school within 15 minutes. Both the Middle School and High School buildings are in lockdown. Emergency personnel and first responders are on the scene. Traffic in and out of the area is restricted, and you are asked to avoid this area until further notice. Additional information will be communicated to you as soon as it becomes available.
