🏃♀️🏃♂️ Pioneer Cross Country Shines at Leavenworth! 🏅
Our incredible Pioneer Cross Country team hit the trails in Leavenworth this past Saturday, competing against 24 other teams on a challenging 2.8-mile course! The hilly terrain didn’t slow them down—our athletes pushed through and delivered some amazing performances on the scenic Leavenworth ski trails. 🌲💪
The Lady Pioneers ran an especially tight and exciting race! With just 1 minute and 35 seconds separating our top 5 runners, they secured an impressive 4th place team finish out of 15 teams, just 3 points shy of third! 🎉
👏 Special shout-out to Ruby Freese for having the race of the day—she crushed her fastest average mile pace of the season despite the tough hills. Way to go, Ruby! 🔥
✨ Lady Pioneers Results (out of 159 runners):
🏅 Syreni Sandoval - 21st (21:45)
🏅 Sage Buhrig - 23rd (22:01)
🏅 Ava Freese - 36th (22:56)
🏅 Ruby Freese - 45th (23:14)
🏅 Christine Zandell - 47th (23:20)
The Pioneer Men faced a bit of tough luck at the start when another team’s runner fell right in front of them, creating a traffic jam in the first 50 meters! 🚨 Despite this, our guys pushed through, with William Boers leading the charge and delivering a stellar performance. 💪 And a big shout-out to Trenton Werner for coming closest to his personal best mile pace!
✨ Pioneer Men Results (out of 149 varsity runners):

Ms. Morgan's 9th grade English Language Arts class read the short story The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell. Today in class, the students played a role playing game inspired by the book, invented by Ms. Morgan. Ms. Morgan used AI to help build the concepts and design, and then used the help of her classroom student teacher assistants to build the playing surface. The class loved the concept and the comprehension of the short story was outstanding. Well done Ms. Morgan!
