East Omak Elementary is home to students in grades 3–5 and a dedicated team of educators who believe every child deserves to feel known, valued, challenged, and capable. At East, we work to create a school where students feel a strong sense of belonging, are excited to learn, and have opportunities to grow both academically and personally.

Our staff is committed to providing strong, engaging instruction while building meaningful relationships with students and families. We believe that when students feel connected, supported, and successful, they thrive. Through high expectations, consistent PBIS practices, social-emotional learning, and a focus on effective Tier 1 instruction, we strive to meet the needs of every learner.

A Message from Principal LeeAnn Schrock

It is a privilege to serve as the principal of East Omak Elementary. This year marks my ninth year as principal at East and my 27th year as an educator in the Omak School District. Before becoming a principal, I was the assistant principal shared between North and East for one year, and I had the privilege of teaching kindergarten through third grade for eighteen years. Those years in the classroom continue to shape my belief in the importance of strong relationships, meaningful learning, and ensuring every child feels known, supported, and capable.

I am incredibly proud of our students, staff, and the community we serve. One of the things I value most about East is the genuine care our staff has for kids. We want our students to know that they belong here, that their growth matters, and that there are adults at school who believe in them.

I believe schools are the strongest when families and educators work together. We welcome your questions, ideas, involvement, and partnership throughout the year. Whether we are celebrating a student's success, working through a challenge, or simply helping a child discover something new, we are better when we do it together.

At East, our theme of growth is more than something you see throughout our school, it reflects what we believe. We all grow at different rates, in different ways, and with the right support and encouragement, every student can thrive.

Hello! My name is Kim DeHart, and I am proud to begin my sixth year as Assistant Principal at East Omak Elementary School.

Originally from the Yakima Valley, I have dedicated my career to supporting students and families through education. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Washington State University, and a degree in Applied Developmental Psychology from Eastern Washington University. I also earned my teaching credentials through Western Washington University and Whitworth University.

Before joining the Omak School District, I worked as a classified employee and then taught in the Issaquah School District for a total of seven years. This August marks 20 years of living in the Omak community and working for Omak Schools. During my time with Omak, I have taught first and second grade at North Elementary and worked with students in the English Language Learner after-school program.

My husband and I have four children, two of whom are proud graduates of Omak schools. We are also blessed with three wonderful grandchildren and two senior Dachshunds. In our free time, we enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, and exploring with our side-by-side.

I am honored to serve the students, staff, and families of East Omak Elementary. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching students learn, grow, and become the very best versions of themselves. I look forward to another amazing year supporting our East Omak Eagles!
